ADSL bonding is a cheaper solution to leased lines that allow organisations to make more use of ADSL by making lines reach further distances and performance is increased.

ADSL bonding tends to be used where faster uploads and downloads are needed for applications such as voice over IP. Bonded ADSL is a low latency cost-effective replacement for leased lines.

MPLS is an abbreviation for Multiple Protocol Label Switching which allows you to connect office headquaters, branches, data centres etc with ease. It does not require firewall or file encryption because it is secure anyway.

Bonded ADSL means that a file is broken down at package level and will use the capacity of all available lines allowing you to send the file faster. Without bonding ADSL lines the file will only be sent down an individual line reducing speeds of which files can be sent.

Remember that Mbps means Mega bits per second (with a lowercase 'b'), and MBps means Mega Bytes per second (with an UPPERCASE 'B'). There are eight bits to a Byte so an 8Mbps connection can transfer up to 1MB (Mega Bytes) per second so a 1MB (1,024KB) file will transfer in just one second.

A 2Mbps connection will transfer the same file in four seconds as it can only transfer data at speeds of up to 200KBps (0.2MBps)
